Haslemere

A friendly place to meet people, explore interests, and get involved at your own pace.

A warm welcome awaits at Haslemere u3a.

We bring together people who are no longer in full-time work and want to stay mentally active, socially connected, and engaged with life. There is no age limit, and no expectation of prior knowledge ‒ just an interest in taking part.

Learning, Friendship and Fun

Haslemere u3a is:

  • Informal, friendly, and welcoming
  • Run entirely by members, for members
  • Join in as much or as little as you like
  • As much about friendship and enjoyment as learning

Enjoy shared interests, good conversation and friendly company in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Activities, Groups and Events

A wide range of activities, shared at your own pace.

With over 70 active groups, there is something for almost everyone ‒ and new ideas are always welcome.

Our activities include:

  • Walking, dancing, and other gentle physical   activities
  • Languages, history, and discussion groups
  • Creative and practical interests
  • Games, book groups, food and social groups

In addition, members enjoy:

  • Monthly Speakers’ Meetings on a wide range of topics
  • Social events and get-togethers
  • Organised excursions and visits

New groups form every year. You don’t need to be an expert to start one ‒ just enthusiastic.

Membership currently costs just £10 per year.

You are very welcome to come along and try us out before joining. Members may join as many groups as they wish, although some groups ask for small session fees to cover room hire or other expenses.

The status of each group, including whether it is open to new members, is shown on the individual group pages.

Run by Members, for Members

Haslemere u3a is a registered charity (No. 1053049) founded in 1995 and run entirely by volunteers.

Members are encouraged to get involved, whether by helping with activities, joining the committee, or even starting a new group if one doesn’t already exist or is currently full. Our committee is always keen to welcome new ideas and new talent.

Accessibility and Support

Members with carers are welcome to bring them ‒ carers do not need to join and are covered by our u3a insurance.
