Our Mission

The Haslemere U3A exists to promote lifelong learning, friendship, and wellbeing for people no longer in full-time employment. As part of the national U3A movement, we provide opportunities for members to share skills, knowledge, and experience in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Our aim is to support active ageing, community connection, and personal development through interest-led activities and volunteering.

Our History

The Haslemere U3A was established to serve the local community of Haslemere and surrounding areas. We are affiliated with the Third Age Trust, the national charity supporting the U3A network across the United Kingdom. Since our formation, we have grown into a vibrant member-led organisation offering a wide range of educational, recreational, and social activities.

We organise and coordinate member-run interest groups, social events, and educational activities including:

• Arts and crafts

• Languages and literature

• Walking and fitness groups

• History and local studies

• Talks, lectures, and community events

All activities are run by volunteers for the benefit of our members and the wider community.
