Leader/Organiser Roger Abayasekera
Gentle Jivers is a fun-loving and friendly group, meeting upstairs in the Hall at Haslemere Methodist Church, Weyhill, every Wednesday from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm.
Autumn term 2026 dates - September 16th, 23rd and 30th, October 7th, 14th and 21st (no dancing on the 28th - half term). November 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, December 2nd and 9th.
On the first Wednesday of each month we hold a Tea Dance, with tea and cake served halfway through the afternoon.
The charge is £28 per term, or, if you prefer, £3 per session for u3a members to cover hall rental costs.
You are very welcome whether you come on your own or with a partner. We also welcome dancers of all abilities, from complete beginners to those with previous experience.
Our enthusiastic helpers, teachers and demonstrators are always on hand to guide and encourage you, helping to clear away any "brain fog" and build confidence in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Above all, our aim is to have fun, enjoy the music and make new friends.
Each session includes teaching and practice of basic and intermediate dance steps, which are gradually developed into enjoyable routines. If you already have some dance experience, you're very welcome to incorporate your own steps too.
We enjoy dancing to a wide variety of music and are always happy to receive requests.
Whether you're looking to learn, keep active, meet new people, or simply enjoy an afternoon of music and dancing, you'll be made very welcome.
