This is a new group which will explore the lives and artworks of the many artists who came to live and/or work in the Haslemere area after the railway arrived in 1859.
As well as the individual artists, topics will include studying the art world in which they operated, the importance of illustration in the era and the influences of critics, patrons and dealers as well as the opportunities to exhibit their work.
Starting in October 2025, sessions will be held at Haslemere Museum on the third Tuesday of the month during term time, 10.15am until 12.30pm, Numbers will be limited to 18 and, depending on uptake, will cost £2.50 per session.
