WE MEET AT 0930 AT THE OONAGH JEFFREY ROOM, ON THE FIRST FLOOR AT GRAYSWOOD VILLAGE HALL, GRAYSWOOD ROAD. This venue has a free Car Park, next to Grayswood Green.

On arrival, please ring the top Door Bell marked "O J Room" at the Front Door and you will be admitted. Please close this door after entering and come upstairs. A Nursery School will normally be operating on the floor below us. Please use the disabled toilet if female or the mens toilet if male - for security and child protection reasons, the ladies toilet is reserved for children and Nursery staff only.

A stairlift is available if required.

Do YOU have some favourite tunes ? Would you like to share them ?

The Group normally meets monthly in person to enjoy a wide variety of music. Each session usually involves a Member presenting their favourite music, which could be mixed or limited to a single type. Occasionally, we invite guest presenters. Help with equipment and technology is readily available if required.

The sessions are for two hours, gathering from 9.30 am, usually on the fourth Monday of the month, with the music starting by 10.00 am. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided free.

For example, one session featured our first guest presenter, The Revd Fiona Gwynn, a resident of Grayswood for 30 years, ordained 9 years ago and now Priest in Charge at All Saints Grayswood. Our feet were tapping for much of the time. The music started with Procul Harem performing "A whiter shade of pale" and ended with "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong. In between, the tunes included Audrey Hepburn singing "Moon River", "Somewhere over the rainbow" and part of Vivaldi's "Four seasons". As usual, we heard some of the speaker's life story, including about her time in the City as a foreign exchange dealer, when she was the only female dealer on the floor - Fi was so much "one of the boys" that the men organised a stag party with her as the guest of honour, to mark her marriage.

Another presenter played a foxtrot and proudly announced that she had danced this with Anton Du Beke.

New people are allowed to attend one session without payment or obligation. After that, if they want to come again an upfront fee is payable for the academic year. This is £20 up to 1st December. After then, the amount is £3 multiplied by the remaining number of sessions in the academic year.
