Thank you for your interest in our Group.

Our dancing is a traditional form of group dancing (but definitely more gentle than barn dancing or square dancing). We mainly focus on traditional English Country Dancing from the 17th to the 19th century, but we sometimes tackle dances from other countries and more recent times. To see some of our kind of dancing on the internet visit RegencyDances.org and look at "Auretti's Dutch Skipper", "Corn Rigs", "Hole in the Wall", "Hop Pickers' Feast" and "Upon a Summer's Day" to see some of our favourite dances.

If you would like to sample one of our dancing sessions at St Stephen's Church Hall in Shottermill, you can find us in action on most Wednesday mornings (but not the third Wednesday) in term-time, between 11 and 12.30. There is no charge for an introductory visit, and no need to bring a partner. Then, if you want to become a member of the group, the charge is £4 per session (and you have to be a U3A member).

The steps to all the dances are fully explained/demonstrated before the music is added. When we perform well, there is a great sense of achievement and, when it goes wrong, there is much laughter - and we try again! We are a small, happy group and always have a lot of fun.

You will need comfortable clothing and low-heeled shoes.
